A new Welcome Centre located at the Camp Manitou entrance was completed in spring 2019 to provide an improved guest experience for campers and groups by offering a more convenient drop-off and check-in process while also reducing vehicular traffic within camp.
Winter programming is greatly enhanced with the addition of a rink that will be operational for 6 months every year. With a roof to keep away snow, and an ice plant to ensure quality ice from fall to spring, the rink is one of the top amenities at Camp Manitou.
In close proximity to the cabins, this facility includes male and female washrooms and showers, as well as 2 dressing rooms for the hockey rink.
A home for the Zamboni is added, greatly enhancing our ability to make quality ice for rental groups and the Winnipeg Jets Hockey Academy student athletes.
The ability to host large groups is a reality with the addition of 12 cabins. Overnight camp for children in the summer months is now offered. The cabins are available for use 12 months of the year and can sleep up to 12 campers.
Campers are given the opportunity to test their balance and agility on the low ropes course. The adventure playground features Tarzan ropes, floating bridges, a tight rope walk and much more.
With the goal of adding another adventure activity that can be enjoyed by campers of all ages, a 25’ climbing wall is built. Up to 6 campers can climb at one time on walls with varying degrees of difficulty.
A play structure is built near the swimming pool for campers to enjoy during their free time. The structure is accessible for children with mobility challenges.
To give campers the sensation of flying through the air, a zip line is added to the programming mix. It instantly becomes one of the campers’ favorite activities.
